Medici Masters of Florence – Love, Money and Murders + The Medici Chapels – About 1.5 or 2.5 Hours
During this tour we will visit the palaces and the churches of the most powerful and influential Florentine family of the Renaissance. Their villas and palaces hosted the great artists and intellectuals of this golden age.
The House of Medici dominated Florentine politics for 300 years (c. 1434-1737). Originally a hardworking, middle-class family in the cloth, silk and banking business, they used their wealth, popularity and philanthropy to rise into Europe’s nobility, producing popes and queens.
In our itinerary you will hear about the story of a conspiracy against the Medici that led to a bloody assassination in 1478. We will see Palace Medici Riccardi, San Lorenzo Church, Palace Strozzi and many other places.

*For a complete tour, there is also the possibility of visiting the Medici Chapels, that contain tombs of this great family and Michelangelo’s New Sacristy, a chapel designed by this great artist, and the Chapel of Princes, fully decorated with many different coloured marbles. In this case the tour will last 2.5 hours.
